The mountain of studies supporting the cardiovascular benefits of omega-3 and CLA heart-healthy, polyunsaturated fats keeps getting higher. One recent study shows that elevated levels of omega-3 reduces the risk of heart failure in women by 25%.
Another reports that for every 5% increase in polyunsaturated fat/omega-3 intake, the risk of coronary heart disease goes down 10%. Consuming foods containing omega-3 fatty acids has also recently been shown to improve blood vessel health.
